What's in a Tree...

Last night while i went to class Branden went to pick out our Christmas tree (a little late i know). As i was driving home i couldnt help but think of how i was going to decorate this perfectly gappy (to show off the ornaments), straight, proportional tree. I decided to call and see how things were going and if i needed to pick up anything on my way home. Branden seamed excited about our tree, he said he got it "on sale" and that he may need to cut a few "dead" branches from it but it was only 25.00, a steal in his eyes. My heart sank, He bought a dead tree... Our house is going to catch fire... I had no idea what i was coming home to.

Our tree isn't perfect, its mangled... and browning... but as i stood back and looked at our decorated tree i felt my heart fall in love.

Even the ugly trees need homes, Nothing is perfect no matter how much you try...

I see myself worrying about having the perfect house, kids, relationship with my husband (and so on) that i miss out on the perfectly imperfect life i have right in front of me. Its funny how a tree can say so much...

This is our tree and its decorated with our favorite things, it may not be perfect but its ours and I'm pretty proud :0)

... Late last night i woke to a crash... panicked i jumped up to look down the hall, certain someone was coming to get us... i woke Branden (who wasn't very happy)... as we walked in to the living room i was saddened that our perfect for us tree had bit the dust... toppled over... now lay even more mangled on the floor (that i just mopped, which now has tree water all over)... after a few great words from Branden... its decided that we will invest in a fake tree for the years to come... I'm not sure how happy i am about this decision.
